Make Busy versions of Modulus 9 and Modulus 21 backplanes (which install in a

Modulus enclosure with card modems) come equipped with the Busy Out feature.

This feature causes a Busy Out modem to “appear busy” to the central office when:

Power is disconnected from the Modulus enclosure

The modem card is not present in its slot

Busy Out=ON (the option is set through the front panel menu, the AT ACU, or a network manager)

Busy Out is intended for use with Model 3262 and 3267 dial modems. In some coun- tries, it is also used in dial-restoral mode on Model 3263 and 3268 leased modems.
