2.2Connecting Controllers and the Computer to the Network

2.2.1 Introduction

The manual supplied with each controller identifies the terminals to be used for RS-232 or RS-485 communications. Consult those manuals before attempting to connect the controllers to the network.

2.2.2 RS-232 Interface

Follow the instructions in the controller manual for making an RS-232 connection to the instrument. Refer to the diagram below to see how an adapter should route signals to and from the computerÕs serial port.
