13.3.3 Handset
The speakerphone is not
working.
LUse the speakerphone in a quiet room.
LIf you have difficulty hearing the other party, adjust the volume.
I cannot locate a handset. LThe called handset is too far from the base unit.
LThe called handset is in use. Try again later.
Caller information is not
displayed.
LYou have not subscribed to Caller ID service.
LThe caller requested not to send his/her information.
LFor Australian users:
Your unit is connected to a telephone line with ADSL service. We
recommend connecting a filter (contact your ADSL service
provider) to the telephone line between the base unit and the
telephone line jack.
For New Zealand users:
Your unit is connected to a telephone line with ADSL (JetStream)
service. We recommend that you contact your ADSL service
provider to have an ADSL Splitter installed. We do not recommend
the use of generic ADSL filters.
While viewing caller
information, the display
returns to standby mode.
LDo not pause for over 1 minute on the handset or 3 minutes on the
base unit while searching.
Problem Cause & Solution
The handset does not
work.
LMake sure that the batteries are installed correctly (page 20).
LFully charge the batteries (page 22).
LClean the charge contacts and charge again (page 22).
LTurn the handset power OFF, then ON (page 23).
LCheck that the power cord is connected properly.
LThe handset has not been registered to the base unit. Register the
handset (page 81).
LRe-install the batteries (page 20) and fully charge them.
The handset display is
blank.
LThe handset is not turned ON. Turn the power ON (page 23).
The handset will not turn
ON.
LMake sure that the batteries are installed correctly (page 20).
LFully charge the batteries (page 22).
LClean the charge contacts and charge again (page 22).
w is flashing. LThe handset is not registered to the base unit. Register it (page
81).
LThe handset is too far from the base unit. Move closer.
LThe power cord is not connected. Check the connections.
LYou are using the handset or base unit in an area with high
electrical interference. Locate the handset and base unit away from
interference sources, such as antenna and mobile phones.
The handset does not
ring.
LThe night mode feature is turned ON. Turn it OFF (page 75).
LThe ringer volume is turned OFF. Adjust it (page 24).
The batteries should be
charging but the battery
icon does not change.
LClean the charge contacts and charge again (page 22).
LThe power cord is disconnected. Plug in the power cord.
