4.6Receiving a fax manually – Auto answer OFF
Note:
LBy default, the unit reduces the size of the received document to 92% when printing (See feature #36 on page 53 for details).
4.6.1 Activating TEL mode
Press {AUTO ANSWER} repeatedly to display “TEL MODE”.
LThe {AUTO ANSWER} indicator on the base unit turns OFF and r(next to the battery icon) disappears from the cordless handset display.

How to receive phone calls and faxes with the base unit
1.Lift the handset or press
2.When:
–document reception is required,
–a fax calling tone (slow beep) is heard, or
–no sound is heard,
press {FAX START}.
3.Replace the handset if using it.

1.Lift the cordless handset and press {C} or {s} to answer the call.
2.When:
–document reception is required,
–a fax calling tone (slow beep) is heard, or
–no sound is heard,
press ".
3.Select “Fax Start”, then press #.
LYou can also press {FAX START} on the base unit.
How to receive faxes with an extension telephone
1.When the extension telephone rings, lift the handset of the extension telephone.
2.When:
–document reception is required,
–a fax calling tone (slow beep) is heard, or
–no sound is heard,
press {*}{#}{9} (default fax activation code) firmly.
3.Replace the handset.
Note:
LTo receive fax documents using the extension telephone, you must set the remote fax activation to ON (feature #41 on page 53) beforehand. The default setting is ON.
To stop receiving
Press {STOP}.
