11.3.3 Cordless handset
{REDIAL} or {PAUSE } on the
base unit does not function
properly.
LIf this button is pressed during dialling, a pause will be inserted. If pressed
immediately after a dial tone is obtained, the last number dialled will be
redialled.
The receiving mode does not
function properly.
LThe Distinctive Ring is set (feature #31 on page 52).
During programming, I
cannot enter the code or ID
number.
LAll or part of the number is the same as another code or ID. Change the
number:
remote operation ID (code): page 48, or feature #11 on page 51.
fax activation code: feature #41 on page 53.
auto disconnection code: feature #49 on page 54.
The ink film runs out quickly. LEven if there are only a few sentences, every page that comes out of the
machine is considered a full page.
LTurn OFF the following features:
sending report: feature #04 on page 50.
journal report: feature #22 on page 51.
Caller ID list: feature #26 on page 52.
The base unit beeps. LThe memory reception alert of feature #44 is ON (page 53), and the unit has
a document in memory. Press {STOP} to stop the beeps, then see the
displayed message instructions to solve the problem.
The speakerphone is not
working.
LUse the speakerphone in a quiet room.
LIf you have difficulty hearing the other party, adjust the volume.
I cannot page a cordless
handset or base unit.
LThe cordless handset is too far from the base unit.
The unit does not display the
caller’s name and/or
telephone number.
LYou need to subscribe to a Caller ID service.
LOther telephone equipment may be interfering with your phone. Disconnect
it and try again.
LOther electrical appliances connected to the same outlet may be interfering
with the Caller ID information.
LTelephone line noise may be affecting the Caller ID information.
LThe caller requested not to send his/her information (page 28).
LIf a call is being transferred to you, the caller information will not be
displayed.
The display exits the Caller ID
List while viewing caller
information.
LDo not pause for over 1 minute on the cordless handset or 3 minutes on the
base unit while viewing.
Problem Cause & Solution
The cordless handset does
not work.
LMake sure that the battery is installed correctly (page 16) and fully charge
it (page 18).
LClean the charge contacts and charge again (page 18).
LTurn the cordless handset power OFF, then ON (page 18).
LCheck that the power cord is connected properly.
LThe cordless handset has not been registered to the base unit. Register the
cordless handset (page 59).
LRe-install the batteries (page 16) and fully charge them.
The cordless handset display
is blank.
LThe cordless handset is in screen saver mode (page 18). Press {ih} to
activate the cordless handset display again.
LThe cordless handset is not turned ON. Turn the power ON (page 18).
