Preventing accidental erasing of discs

You can lock the entire disc to prevent important recordings from being erased by accident. You can only lock the entire disc. It is not possible to lock individual recordings.

What happens with DVD+R discs?

 

As long as these discs have not been finalized, you can protect them

against being overwritten just like DVD+RW.

1Put the disc to be locked into the recorder.

2While the Index Picture Screen is displayed, press STOP h on the remote control. The first title is selected.

3Press ACH+ . The disc information screen is displayed.

4Press the C button.

Select the 'Protection' line. Confirm with C .

5Select 'Protected' using CH- B and confirm with OK .

6Press D , then press DISC-MENUto play the disc.

The entire disc is now protected. If you attempt a recording, '￿￿￿￿ ￿￿￿￿' will appear on the display and 'Disc locked' will appear on the TV screen.

If you later decide to record on the disc, follow these steps but select
