PROBLEMSOLUTION

I cannot playback (Super) Video CDs

bIt is possible that this (Super) Video CD contains a menu and the 'PBC' is switched off. You can see this in status field 'PBC OFF'. To activate this function, proceed as follows:

1Press SYSTEM-MENUwhile the (Super) Video-CD is inserted.

2Select 'A' using D or C .

3 Select line ' (Disc features)' using CH- B or ACH+ and confirm with C .

4Select 'On' in line 'PBC' using CH- B or ACH+ .

5 Confirm with OK and end with SYSTEM-MENU .

Poor playback on DVD Recorder (distorted picture/distorted sound)

No recording possible.

Programmed recording does not work:

Missing or wrong TV channels

'DEMO' appears if I press the GUIDE/TV button.

The cable box do not always react to the IR Blaster

In the GUIDE Plus+®

'LISTINGS' screen, I see too many or too less TV Channels

bYour TV is not properly adjusted. bThe disc is dirty: Clean the disc.

bSometimes the picture may be temporarily distorted. This is not a defect of your DVD Recorder.

bThe TV channel you want to record is not stored or you selected the wrong program number: Check TV channels stored.

bDisc is write-protected (cannot be recorded on): Remove write-protection or change the disc. For more information, please see 'Preventing accidental erasing of discs' on the 'Manual Recording'.

bA finalized DVD+R has been inserted. Change disc.

bYou have set the wrong time or date: Check time/date.

bYou have not set the TIMER properly: Check the programmed recordings (TIMER block).

bA locked disc was inserted: Remove disc lock.

bA finalized DVD+R has been inserted. Change disc. bCabelbox (if available) switched off: Switch it on

bIR-Blaster not connected: Connect the IR-Blaster andset up the GUIDE Plus+® system with the cable box. (Chapter 'The GUIDE Plus+® system, section 'Setting up the GUIDE Plus+® system').

bWrong cable connection selected bWrong channel line up selected.

bThe Demo Pin from the G-LINKjack on the backside of the DVD Recorder was not removed.

1Disconnect the DVD Recorder from the power outlet.

2Remove the DEMO pin from the G-LINKjack on the backside of the DVD Recorder

3Re-connect the Recorder to the power supply.

bThe Infrared (IR) Remote control signal interfere with the IR signal of the IR Blaster Put the IR Blaster closer to the front of the cable box.

bThe number of TV channels depends on the setting in the GUIDE Plus+® sytem settings.

If you have a Cable Box installed (Cable Box 'YES'), then you should switch on the available channels (Channels above 125).

bIf you have no Cable Box installed (Cable Box 'NO'), then you should switch off the channels which are not available.
