#Whena disc is loaded in this unit, touch the
sourceicon and then touch DVD to select DVD.
#IfDVD DISC AUTO is turned off, touch the
sourceicon and then touch DVD to select DVD
(referto the previous page).
#Toeject a disc, press EJECT.
Notes
!TheDVD player plays one, standard, 12-cm or
8-cm(single) disc at a time. Do not use an
adapterwhen playing 8-cm discs.
!Donot insert anything other than a disc into
thedisc loading slot. Discs which can be
playedback are listed on Playable discs on
page7.
!Ifyou cannot insert a disc completely or if
afteryou insert a disc the disc does not play,
checkthat the label side of the disc is up.
PressEJECT to eject the disc, and check the
discfor damage before inserting it again.
!Ifthe DVD player does not operate properly,
anerror message such as ERROR-02 may be
displayed.Refer to Error messages on page 92.
!Ifbookmark function is on, DVD playback re-
sumesfrom the selected point. For more de-
tails,refer to Resume playback (Bookmark) on
page32.
Adjusting the volume
%UseVOLUME to adjust the sound level.
Withthe head unit, rotate VOLUME to in-
creaseor decrease the volume.
Withthe remote control, press VOLUME to in-
creaseor decrease the volume.
Turningthe unit off
%Whenusing the touch panel keys,
touchthe source icon and then touch OFF.
#Whenthe source icon is not displayed, you
candisplay it by touching the screen.
%Whenusing the button, press SOURCE
andhold until the unit turns off.
Using the rear display
Youcan watch a DVD/Video CD on the rear
displayregardless of whether DVD (built-in
DVDplayer) is selected as the source or not.
!Towatch a DVD/Video CD on the rear dis-
playonly, switch the operation mode on the
remotecontrol to DVD. And you can oper-
atethe DVD/Video CD playback on the rear
displayindependently by the remote con-
trol.(Refer to page 15.)
CAUTION
Whenyou have turned the DVD/Video CD play-
backon by pressing REAR ON, you cannot turn it
offeven if you press SOURCE and hold. In this
case,press REAR ON to turn the DVD/Video CD
playbackoff.
%PressREAR ON to watch a DVD/Video
CDon the rear display when DVD (built-in
DVDplayer) is not selected as the source.
DVD/VideoCD playback is turned on and the
illuminationcolor of REAR ON changes into
thedifferent color than the other buttons.
#Youcan also turn the DVD/Video CD playback
onby pressing REAR.S on the remote control.
#Toturn the DVD/Video CD playback off, press
REARON again.
