Protecting your unit fromtheft
Thefront panel can be detached from the
headunit to discourage theft.
!Ifthe front panel is not detached fromthe
headunit within five seconds of turning off
theignition, a warning tone will sound.
!Youcan turn off the warning tone. See
Switchingthe warning tone on page 83.
Important
!Neveruse force or grip the display and the
buttonstoo tightly when removing or attach-
ing.
!Avoidsubjecting the front panel to excessive
shocks.
!Keepthe front panel out of direct sunlight and
hightemperatures.
!Ifremoved, replace the front panel on the unit
beforestarting up your vehicle.

Removing the front panel

1 PressDETACH to remove the front
panel.
PressDETACH and the right side of the front
panelis removed from the head unit.
2 Gentlygrip the right side of the front
paneland slowly pull it outward.
Takecare not to grip it too tightly or to drop
thefront panel and protect it from contact
withwater or other fluidsto prevent perma-
nentdamage.

Attaching the front panel

%Replacethe front panel by holding it
uprightto the unit and clipping it securely
intothe mounting hooks.
