beplayed back. However, there is a delay in
thestart of playback on discs with numerous
tiers.For this reason we recommend creating
discswith no more than 2 tiers.

Using the display correctly
CAUTION
!Ifliquid or foreign matter should get inside
thisunit, turn off the power immediately and
consultyour dealer or the nearest authorized
PIONEERService Station. Do not use the unit
inthis condition because doing so may result
ina fire, electric shock, or other failure.
!Ifyou notice smoke, a strange noise or smell,
orany other abnormal signs from the display,
turnoff the power immediately and consult
yourdealer or the nearest authorized PIO-
NEERService Station. Using this unit in this
conditionmay result in permanent damage to
thesystem.
!Donot disassemble or modify this unit, as
thereare high-voltage components inside
whichmay cause an electric shock. Be sure
toconsult your dealer or the nearest author-
izedPIONEER Service Station for internal in-
spection,adjustments or repairs.

Handling the display

!Whenthe display is subjected to direct sun-
lightfor a long period of time, it will be-
comevery hot resulting inpossible
damageto the LCD screen. When not
usingthis unit, close the display and avoid
exposingit to direct sunlight.
!Thedisplay should be used within the tem-
peratureranges shown below.
Operatingtemperature range: 10 to +50
°C
Storagetemperature range: 20 to +80 °C
Attemperatures higher or lower than the
operatingtemperature range the display
maynot operate normally.
!TheLCD screen of this unit isexposed in
orderto increase its visibility within the ve-
hicle.Please do not press strongly on itas
thismay damage it.
!Donot place anything on the display when
itis opened. Also, do notattempt to carr y
outangle adjustment, or open/close the
displayby hand. Applying strong force to
thedisplay may damage it.
!Donot push the LCD screen with much
forceas this may scratch it.
!Becareful not to place anything between
thedisplay and the main body when the
displayis opening or closing. If an object
getsbetween the display and main body,
thedisplay may stop working.
!Becareful of fingers, long hair, and loose
articlesof clothing which could possibly
getcaught between the display and the
mainbody and cause serious injur y.

Liquid crystal display (LCD) screen

!Ifthe display is near the vent of an air con-
ditionerwhen it is opened, make surethat
airfrom the air conditioneris not blowing
onit. Heat from the heater may damage
theLCD screen, and cool airfrom the cool-
ermay cause moisture to form inside the
displayresulting in possible damage. Also,
ifthe display is cooled down by the cooler,
thescreen may become dark, or the life
spanof the small fluorescent tube used in-
sidethe display may be shortened.
