Entering disc titles
Youcan input CD titles and display the title.
Thenext time you insert a CD for whichyou
haveentered a title, the title of that CD will be
displayed.
Usethe disc title input feature to store up to
48CD titles in the unit. Each title can be upto
10characters long.
!Whenplaying a CD TEXT disc, you cannot
switchto TITLE EDIT. The disc title will
havealready been recorded on a CD TEXT
disc.
!Ifno title has been entered for the currently
playingdisc, NO TITLE is displayed.
1 Playthe CD that you want to enter a
titlefor.
2 TouchA.MENU and FUNCTION and then
touchNEXT.
3 TouchTITLE EDIT.
4 TouchABC to select the desired charac-
tertype.
TouchABC repeatedly to switch between the
followingcharacter types:
Alphabet(upper case), numbers and symbols
Alphabet(lower case)European letters,
suchas those with accents (e.g., á, à, ä, ç)
#Youcan select to input numbers and symbols
bytouching 123.
5 Touch or to select a letter of the
alphabet.
Eachtime you touch itwill display a letter
ofthe alphabet in A B C ... X Y Z, numbers
andsymbols in 1 2 3 ... | } ¯ order. Each time
youtouch itwill display a letter in the re-
verseorder, such as Z Y X ... C B A.
6 Touch tomove the cursor to the
nextcharacter position.
Whenthe desired letter is displayed, touch
tomove the cursor to the next next position
andthen select the next letter. Touch to
movebackwards in the display.
7 TouchOK to store the entered title in
memory.
8 TouchESC to return to the playback dis-
play.
Notes
!Titlesremain in memory, even after the disc
hasbeen removed from the unit, and are re-
calledwhen the disc is reinserted.
!Afterdata for 48 discs has been stored in
memory,data for a new disc will overwrite the
oldestone.
Using CD TEXT functions
Somediscs have certain information encoded
onthe disc during manufacture. These discs
maycontain such information as the CD title,
tracktitle, artists name and playback time
andare called CD TEXT discs. Only these spe-
ciallyencoded CD TEXT discs support the
functionslisted below.
