Eachtime you touch or switches be-
tweenthe following Q factor:
WIDE(wide)NARROW (narrow)
#Youcan adjust parameters for each band of
theother speakers in the same way.
Note
Youcan select a center frequency for each band.
Youcan change the center frequency in 1/3-oc-
tavesteps, but you cannot select frequencies that
haveintervals shorter than 1 octave among the
centerfrequencies of the three bands.
Using the auto-equalizer
Theauto-equalizer is the equalizer cur ve cre-
atedby auto TA and EQ (refer to Auto TA and
EQ(auto-time alignment and auto-equalizing)
onthis page).
Youcan turn the auto-equalizer on or off.
1 TouchA.MENU and DSP and then touch
NEXTtwice.
2 TouchAUTO EQ.
#Youcannot use this function if auto TA and
EQhas not been carried out.
3 Touchato turn the auto-equalizer on.
#Toturn auto-equalizer off, touch b.
Auto TAand EQ (auto-timealignment and auto-equalizing)
Onlywhen the multi-channel processor (e.g.,
DEQ-P7650)is connected to this unit, you can
operatethis function.
Theauto-time alignment is automatically ad-
justedfor the distance between each speaker
andthe listening position.
Theauto-equalizer automatically measures
thecar interior acoustic characteristics, and
thencreates the auto-equalizer cur ve based
onthat information.
WARNING
Toprevent accidents, never carry out auto TA and
EQwhile driving. When this function measures
thecar interior acoustic characteristics to create
anauto-equalizer curve, a loud measurement
tone(noise) may be outputted from the speakers.
CAUTION
!Carryingout auto TA and EQ under the follow-
ingconditions may damage the speakers. Be
sureto check the conditions thoroughly be-
forecarrying out auto TA and EQ.
Whenspeakers are incorrectly connected.
(e.g.,When a rear speaker is connected to
asubwoofer output.)
Whena speaker is connected to a power
ampdelivering output higher than the
speakersmaximum input power capabil-
ity.
!Ifthe microphone is placed in an unsuitable
positionthe measurement tone may become
loudand measurement may take a long time,
resultingin a drain on battery power. Be sure
toplace the microphone in the specified loca-
tion.
