Basic operation of hands-free phoning
These are the basic operations to use hands-
free phoning via Bluetooth wireless technol-
ogy.More advanced hands-free phoning op-
erations are explained starting on Introduction
of advanced hands-free phoning operation on
page 44.

Making a phone call

Dial a number

The most basic way to make a call is to simply
dial the number.
1 Press DIRECT on the remote control and
dial a phone number by pressing 0–9.
2 Press JOYSTICK on the remote control
to confirm the number.
3 Press OFF HOOK on the remote control
to call the number.
#Youcan also dial a phone number in the func-
tionmenu.

Calling a number in the Phone Book

Preset number

Numbers that you dial frequently can be as-
signed to presets for quick recall.
Refer to Using preset numbers on page 52 for
how to assign a number to a preset.
1 Push MULTI-CONTROL up or down to
select a preset number.
Presetnumbers Dial preset 1–10 appear in
the display.
#Youcan also recall preset numbers
Dialpreset 1–10 by pressing 0–9on the remote
control.
#If the number is already in the PhoneBook
thenthe name isalso displayed.
#Nodata is displayedfor preset numbers that
havenot beenassigned.
2 Press MULTI-CONTROL to make a call.
#Youcan also perform this operation by press-
ingOFF HOOK onthe remote control.

Voicerecognition

If your cellular phone features voice recogni-
tion technology,you can make a call by voice
commands.
!Operation varies depending on the type of
your cellular phone. Refer to the instruction
manual that came with your cellular phone
for detailed instructions.
!This function can be operated only when
the connection is established with HFP
(Hands FreeProfile).
1 Press BAND and hold until Voicedial
appears in the display.
Voicedial appears in the display. When
Voicedial ON is displayed, voice recognition
function is now ready.
#If your cellular phone does not feature voice
recognitionfunction, No voice dial appears in
thedisplay and opearationis not available.
2 Pronounce the name of your contact.
