Trainingmay include some risk. Before beginning a
regulartraining program, answer the following questions
concerningyour health status. If you answer yes to any of
thesequestions, consult a physician before starting any
trainingprogram.
• Haveyou been physically inactive for the past 5 years?
• Doyou have high blood pressure or high blood
cholesterol?
• Areyou taking any blood pressure or heart medication?
• Doyou have a history of breathing problems?
• Doyou have symptoms of any disease?
• Areyou recovering from a serious illness or medical
treatment?
• Doyou use a pacemaker or other implanted electronic
device?
• Doyou smoke?
• Areyou pregnant?
Inaddition to exercise intensity, medications for heart
conditions,blood pressure, psychological conditions,
asthma,breathing, etc., as well as some energy drinks,
alcohol,and nicotine may also affect heart rate.
Itis important to be sensitive to your body’s responses
duringexercise. If you feel unexpected pain or excessive
fatiguewhen exercising, it is recommended that you stop
theexercise or continue at a lighter intensity.
Note!If you are using a pacemaker, you can use Polar
trainingcomputers. In theory interference to pacemaker
causedby Polar products should not be possible. In
practiceno reports exist to suggest anyone ever having
experiencedinterference. We cannot however issue an
officialguarantee on our products' suitability with all
pacemakersor other implanted devices due to the variety
