AWARD® BIOS Setup

If your motherboard comes with the AWARD® BIOS ROM, read this chapter for an overview of the Award® BIOS settings. AWARD® BIOS ROM provides a Setup utility for users to modify the basic system configuration. The information is stored in a battery-backed CMOS RAM so it retains the Setup information when the power is turned off.

This would prevent unauthorized use of your computer. The setting to determine when the pass- word prompt is required is the PASSWORD CHECK option of the BIOS FEA- TURES SETUP menu. If the PASSWORD CHECK option is set to Always, the password is required both at boot and at entry to Setup.
