Polling (Requesting a Fax Transmissio n)
Polling allows you to call another fax machine and have it send a document
(previously loaded in its feeder) to your machine without oper ator assi stance.
In other words, the receiving fax machine, not the tran smi tt in g fax machi ne ,
initiates the transmission. You can use your machine to both poll and be
polled by others.
To use the polling function, you must first set Rapid Key 10/POL L for use as
a polling key. This is done by changing Option Sett in g 16, as de scri be d in
Chapter 8, Option Settings. (Note that when Rapid Key 10/POLL is set as a
polling key, it cannot be used for Rapid Key Dialling.)
