9.2.2 Programming the MMSI

WARNING

A user MMSI can be input only once. If the user tries to input an MMSI more than once the radio will show the display on

the right. Therefore please be careful not to input the incorrect MMSI number. If the user needs to change the MMSI number after it has been entered,

the radio will have to be returned to Factory Service. Refer to the section “14.2. FACTORY SERVICE.”

1. Press and hold down the [CALL(MENU)] key until the “Radio Setup” menu appears.

2. Turn the CHANNEL selector knob to the left to se- lect “DSC Setup” menu.

3. Press the [ENT] key, then select “User MMSI” with the CHANNEL selector knob.

4. Press the [ENT] key. The display will show a series of dashes or the last MMSI number if programmed.

5. Turn the CHANNEL selector knob or press the [UP(S)] / [DOWN(T)] key on the microphone to se- lect the first number of your MMSI, then press the [ENT] key to step to the next number.

6. Repeat step 5 to set your MMSI (up to nine digits). 7. When finished programming the number, press and

hold the [ENT] key until the confirmation message appears.

8. Press the [ENT] key to store the number in memory and return to radio operation mode.
