4Caring for Your Printer

Quick	Complete	3.	Thermal Head
Cleaning	Cleaning		Open the cover to its full upright position.

		Caution Do not force the cover open; you could damage the printer. If
			the cover is only partially opened, a safety catch keeps the cover
			from releasing. Slide the cover release again and then raise
			the cover.
		Note	After making the last print, allow the thermal head to cool at least
			5 minutes before cleaning because it is very hot.
			Using a lint-free cloth moistened with isopropyl alcohol, lightly
			wipe the full length of the thermal head, using a back and forth
			motion, until dust and ink are removed. Do not exert much
			pressure on the thermal head.
