Getting Set Up 2

Connecting to a single computer

Follow these steps if you are connecting the printer directly to your computer via LocalTalk:

1.Make sure that the printer is turned off before making any LocalTalk connections.

2.Connect the short cable of a LocalTalk connector to your computerÕs LocalTalk port.

3.Connect the short cable of a second LocalTalk connector to the printerÕs LocalTalk port.

4.Connect a LocalTalk cable between the two LocalTalk connectors you have just attached to your computer and your printer.

Note If your LocalTalk connectors require an external terminator (see the illustration on the previous page), make sure that the last device on either side of the network has a terminator inserted into its LocalTalk connector.

If you have no other connections to make, read ahead to ÒTurning on the printerÓ on page 2-19.
