Macintosh drivers

The Tektronix CD-ROM and the Macintosh Printer Drivers diskette include two Macintosh printer drivers that allow you to select page sizes, media type, and TekColor color corrections for a Phaser 480X printer.

Use the Phaser 480X driver if you are using System Software 7.0 and later. The Phaser 480X driver is a Tektronix-modiÞed version of AppleÕs LaserWriter 7.1.2 printer driver. If you are using System Software 7.5 and QuickDraw GX, you must disable QuickDraw GX before using this driver; the Phaser 480X driver does not work with QuickDraw GX.

Use the Phaser 480X GX driver if you are using QuickDraw GX and System Software 7.5 or later. The Phaser 480X GX driver works with QuickDraw GX applications and with non-QuickDraw GX applications.

Note Information on installing and using the Phaser 480X GX driver can be found on the CD-ROM, through the Internet, or on HAL and EuroHAL, the Tektronix automated fax systems. Refer to “If you need help” on page 6-1 for details on Internet access and on using the HAL and EuroHAL systems.

The Phaser 480X Drivers and Utilities Printing Reference manual provides detailed driver installation procedures and complete information on using the Tektronix drivers with your printer.

In addition to installing a driver, you may also need to install PostScript printer description Þles for applications such as Aldus PageMaker and QuarkXPress. For details on printing from an application, refer to the Phaser 480X Drivers and Utilities Printing Reference manual.
