Connecting the printer

Printer ports

The printer accepts data through four ports:

■LocalTalk

■Parallel

■Ethernet

■Serial (RS-232)

Information on the serial port can be found in the following places:

■The Tektronix CD-ROM

■HAL and EuroHAL, the Tektronix automated fax systems

■Internet World Wide Web

The Phaser 480X also includes a SCSI port, which is only used for connecting an external hard disk. Refer to ÒAdding a hard disk for font storageÓ on page B-3 for more information on the SCSI port.
