Frames Per Second

Measured rate in frames per second of the encoded video frames

being created by the appliance.

Frames Encoded

Increments as compressed frames are produced by the appliance.

VFR Frames Dropped

When Configuration: Encoder > Video > Rate Control Method is

configured for Variable Frame Rate (VFR) the encoder may drop

frames to maintain quality and this counter will increment for each

dropped frame. If you experience an unacceptable number of

dropped frames your content is too difficult for your encoder

settings. To improve VBR behavior you can increase the Video

Buffer and/or Target Bit Rate, decrease the Resolution and/or

Target Frame Rate.

Unexpected Frames

Increments if the encoder is forced to drop a frame for unexpected

Dropped

reasons. This status indicator is particularly important when

encoding multiple video rates. An excessive number of frame

drops indicates that your combination of resolutions, frame rates,

and bit rates is too difficult for the content you are encoding. See

Configuration: Encoder > Video on page 24 for more

information.

Buffer Full Count

Increments when the appliance is in an overloaded condition.

Reduce the load by lowering bit rates or reducing the number of

RTSP and/or HTTP clients.
