The equipment has been tested and found to comply with part 15 of the FCC rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation.
This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications.
However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined
by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try and correct the interference by one or more of the following measures:
Reorient or relocate the receivin g antenna.
Increase the separation between t he equipment and re ceiver.
Connect the equipment into an outl et or on a circuit diff erent from that to whic h the receiver is con nected.
Consult the dealer or an experience d radio/TV tec hnician for help.
To ensure safety of users, the FCC has established criteria for the amount of radio frequency energy that can be safely absorbed by a user or bystander according to the intended usage of the prod-
uct. This product has been tested and found to comply with the criteria. The handset has such a low power that it does not require testing. It may be safely held against the ear of the user. The base
unit shall be installed & used such that parts of the user’s body other than the hands should be maintained at a comfortable distance of approximately 20cm or more.
FCC Part 68 and ACTA
If this equipment was approved for connection to the telephone network prior to July 23, 2001, it complies with Part 68 of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) rules. If the equipment
was approved after that date, it complies with the Part 68 rules and with Technical Requirements for Connection of Equipment to the Telephone Network adopted by the Administrative Council for
Terminal Attachments (ACTA). We are required to provide you with the following information.
1. Product identier and R EN information
The label on the back or bottom of th is equipment c ontains, amon g other thing s, an identie r indicating product appro val and the Ri nger Equivalenc e Number (REN). T his informatio n must be
provided to your local telephone co mpany upon r equest. For e quipment appr oved prior to July 23, 20 01, the produc t identier is preceded by the phras e “FCC Reg No.” and the R EN is listed
separately. For equipment approved after t hat date, the product id entier is preced ed by “US” and a colon (:), and the REN is enc oded in the produc t identier withou t a decimal point as the si xth
and seventh characters foll owing the colo n. For example, t he product id entier US:AA AEQ3T123XYZ would i ndicate an REN of 0.3. The REN is used to dete rmine how many d evices you may
connect to your telephone line and still have them ring when you are call ed. In most, but not all areas, the sum of all RENs should be ve (5.0) or less . You may want to contact your local telephone
company for more information.
2. Connection and use with th e nationwide tel ephone networ k
The plug and jack used to connect this equipment to the premis es wiring and the telephone net work must comply with the app licable Part 68 rules and tec hnical requiremen ts adopted by ACTA. A
compliant telephone cord and modular pl ug is provided with this pro duct. It is designed to be conn ected to a compatible mo dular jack that is also compl iant. An RJ11 jack should normally be use d
for connecting to a single line and an RJ14 jac k for two lines. See Ins tallation Instru ctions in the user ’s manual. This equipm ent may not be used with C oin Telephone Lines or wit h Party Lines. If
you have specially wired alarm dialing eq uipment connect ed to your telephone lin e, ensure the connect ion of this equipmen t does not disable your al arm equipment. If you hav e questions about
what will disable alarm equipment , consult your teleph one company or a quali ed installer.
3. Repair instructions
If this equipment is malfunctioni ng, it must be unplugg ed from the modular jac k until the problem ha s been corrected. Re pairs to this teleph one equipment can on ly be made by the manufac turer
or its authorized agents. For repair pro cedures, follow th e instructions o utlined under the L imited Warranty.
4. Rights of the telephone co mpany
If this equipment is causing harm to the telephone net work, the telepho ne company may temp orarily discont inue your telephon e service. The tel ephone company is required to notif y you before
interrupting service. If adva nce notice is not p ractical, you wil l be notied as so on as possible. You wil l be given the opp ortunity to cor rect the proble m and the telephon e company is requi red to
inform you of your right to le a complia nt with the FCC. Your telepho ne company may make cha nges in its facilit ies, equipment, o peration, or proce dures that could af fect the proper fu nctioning
of this product. The telephone co mpany is required to no tify you if such chan ges are planned.
