network.

An acronym for Server Advertising Protocol.

 

Nodes on a NetWare network broadcast "SAP

 

packets" at intervals to advertise their presence to

 

other nodes.

SMB

A term referring to Microsoft networking.

SNMP

An acronym for Simple Network Management

 

Protocol. TCP/IP protocol governing network

 

monitoring.

SPX

An acronym for Sequential Packet eXchange.

 

Novell's implementation of SPP (Sequential Packet

 

Protocol). It ensures that packets are received in the

 

correct order and that there are no errors.
