Chapter 3 Hardware Overview

3.1.4 Power Connector

Make sure you are using the correct power source as shown on the panel and that no objects obstruct the airflow of the fans.

Use the following procedures to connect the Switch to a power source after you have installed it.

Note: Check the power supply requirements shown on the rear panel, and make sure you are using an appropriate power source.

Keep the power supply switch in the OFF position until you come to the procedure for turning on the power.

Connect the female end of the power cord to the power socket of your Switch. Connect the other end of the cord to a power outlet. For models with power adaptors, connect the power adaptor that is provided to the Switch and then connect the power adaptor to a power outlet.

3.2 LEDs

After you connect the power to the Switch, view the LEDs to ensure proper functioning of the Switch and as an aid in troubleshooting.
