Cleaning and Replacing the Filters

The filters should be cleaned periodically to avoid the decline in the cooling efficiency and malfunction.

If they are heavily stained, do not become clean even if cleaned, or are damaged, replace them with new filters; otherwise, dirt and dust may penetrate inside, possibly causing an adverse effect on the screen and preventing you from enjoying clear pictures.

For replacing the filters or removing the inside dust of the projector, consult your dealer.

1 Bring the projector into stand-by mode, and turn off the MAIN POWER switch.

Put the projector into stand-by mode, and make sure “00” appears on the status code display, then turn off the MAIN POWER switch. After that, disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet and the projector.

For details, refer to “Turning Off the Power” on page 33.

2 Remove the filter cover.

Using a Phillips screwdriver, remove the screws fixing each filter cover.

Two filters are used, one on the left side (six screws) and the other on the front (four screws) of the projector.

3 Remove the filters.

Pinch the center portion of the filter with your fingers and pull it toward you.

(The filter is held by four tabs.)
