Google’s location servic e & GPS support
even when location repo rting and locat ion history are tur ned off,
Google periodicall y reports data for use by various a pps from
sources such as Wi-Fi , mobile networks, an d GPs to determine
your approximate locatio n at any given time.
To turn off these services , go to Settings > Personal > Lo-
cation services and uncheck both Google’s location service and
GPS satellites. Doing so will disable most of Google Now’s capa-
bilities as well as many other u seful features of yo ur tablet.
Search & Voice Actions basics
To use Google search, touch the s earch bar at the top of any
Home screen or swipe up fro m the bottom of your ta blet.
You can use Voice Actions with Goo gle search to get dire ctions,
send messages, and per form a number of o ther common tas ks.
Voice Search & Voice Actions
You can initiate a Voice search or Voi ce Action in severa l ways:
• Touch the Microphone icon in the Google Chrome omnibox.
• Touch the Microphone icon on the Home screen or Google
Now screen and speak.
• Touch the search bar on the Home sc reen and say “Goo gle”.
• When you’re viewing the Google Now sc reen, you don’t have to
touch anything. Just say “Google.”
