Change backup & reset options You can back up settings and ot her data associated wi th one or
more of your Google Accoun ts. if you need to replace o r factory
reset your device, you can r estore your data fo r any accounts th at
were previously backed u p.
To view the settings describ ed here, go to Settings > Backup
& reset.
These options are availab le:
• Back up my data. if you check th is option, a wide variety o f
your personal data is backe d up automaticall y, including your
Wi-Fi passwords, Browse r bookmarks, a list of the app s you’ve
installed on Google Play, the words you’ve added to the dic-
tionary used by the onsc reen keyboard, a nd most of your cus-
tomized settings. some th ird-par ty apps may also ta ke advan-
tage of this feature, so you can r estore your dat a if you reinstal l
an app.
if you uncheck this option , your data stops ge tting backed up,
and any existing backups a re deleted from Go ogle servers .
• Backup account. displays the Google Accounts w hose infor-
mation gets backed up. You must s ign in with one or more of
these accounts on a new or res et device to retri eve the associ-
ated information.
To add a new account, touch Back up account > Add acc ount.
• Automatic restore. Check this option to restore setti ngs and
other data when you reinst all an app. Thi s feature requi res that
you are backing up your data w ith your Google Account a nd
