Work with certicates
You can use digital certicates to identify your devi ce for a variety
of purposes, includi ng VPN or Wi-Fi networ k access as well as
authentication to ser vers by apps such as email or b rowser. To
use a certi cate to identify your devic e, you must obta in it wi th
help from your system administrator, and insta ll it in your device’s
trusted credential sto rage .
Android suppor ts DER-en coded X.50 9 certi cates, saved in les
with a .crt or .cer  le extensi on. If yo ur certi cate le has a .de r
or other extension, you must chang e it to .crt or .c er or you won’t
be able to install it.
Android also supports X.509 certicate s saved in PKCS#12 key
store les with a .p12 or .pfx extension. If your key store has some
other extension , you muc h change it to .p12 or . pfx or yo u won’t
be able to install it. When you install a cer ticate from a PKCS#12
key store, Android also ins talls any accompan ying private key or
certicate authori ty certic ates.

Install client & CA certi cates

To install a certicate from yo ur tablet’s inte rnal storage:
1. Copy the certicate or key s tore fro m your compu ter to the
root of your device’s intern al storage (that is, n ot in a folder).
2. To uch Settings > Personal > Security > Credential storage
> Install from storage.
