Chapter 3. Administrator Utility

7.Click Upgrade to begin upgrading the firmware. -or-

Click Abort to cancel the firmware upgrade. The KM0832 will automatically reboot, requiring you to log in again.

Note: It takes approximately 7 minutes to upgrade the firmware for a single stage installation, or 17 minutes for a cascaded installation. Please be patient while the firmware is upgrading.

8. After the firmware upgrade completes, log out to reset the KM0832.

Upgrade Failed

If a device fails to complete the upgrade successfully, start the firmware upgrade procedure again (see page 66).

Firmware Upgrade Recovery

If the firmware upgrade procedure is aborted prematurely (due to a power outage, for example), the switch that was being upgraded at the time may become inoperable, and may be incapable of accepting a normal firmware upgrade.

To recover from a failed firmware upgrade:

1.Slide the firmware upgrade recovery switch (see page 8) to the RECOVER position.

2.Perform a system reset (see System Reset Button on page 7).

3.Slide the recovery switch back to the NORMAL position.

4.Start the firmware upgrade procedure again (see page 66).
