A) BASIC SETUP TO RECEIVE FAXES

Selecting an Answer Mode

There are 4 answer modes for your fax machine. You can choose one by pressing Mode repeatedly until you find the mode you want.

Choose one that suits your needs.

(The indicator lights are available only on the FAX 1030 Plus: means light off. means light on. On the Fax 1020 Plus the receive mode is shown on the display.)

If you want to use your telephone line for both fax and telephone, you may want to choose F/T mode. In F/T mode, your fax machine will answer incoming faxes automatically.

You must answer each call manually.

If you want to answer each incoming call yourself, choose MANUAL mode.

For use with an external TAD 09/12 15:25 TAD (Telephone Answering Device), when

you are not at home.

When you use your fax machine together with a telephone answering machine, choose TAD mode.
