Chapter 5 Maintenance

CAUTION

Peel off the seal covering the nozzles of a cartridge only if you are going to use it immediately. Also, avoid touching the metal contacts or nozzles of the ink cartridge.

5.Open the carriage and insert a new ink cartridge.

6.Turn the lock lever upwards to secure the ink cartridge.

IMPORTANT

•If the carriage is closed before the lock lever is raised, it will not be possible to turn the lock lever. In this case, close and re-open the upper unit to return the carriage to its replacement position.

•If the ink cartridge is not secured by the lock lever, “Check Imprinter: H008” appears on the display panel when the upper unit is closed. In this case, open the upper unit and turn the lock lever to secure the ink cartridge.

7.Carefully lower the upper unit (a). Press down on both sides of the upper unit to ensure that it is securely closed (b).
