Setting Up the Printer

This chapter describes how to set up the BJC-50. It offers guidelines on finding a suitable location for the printer, explains how to unpack the printer, and gives an overview of the printer’s components. Even if you have already set up the printer by following the instructions in the Quick Start Guide, read this section to become familiar with the parts of the printer and how to use them more efficiently.

■Selecting a location for your printer

Carefully read the following instructions before setting up your printer in order to choose the best location.

•Choose a flat, sturdy surface with enough space to feed paper into the front of the printer and to handle paper output at the back of the printer.

•Avoid excessive heat or humidity, and avoid direct sunlight. Place the printer where the temperature is stable and comfortable.

•Do not leave the printer in a vehicle, where it may be exposed to extremely high temperatures.
