Central

When configured as a central dryer, there is no process heater in the system. Therefore, replacing the process heater is not applicable.

12Put petroleum jelly on the tips of the new heater wire leads to make it easier to go through the holes in the back of the control box. Reference the wiring diagram to reattach the heater wires and the two snap switch wires.

13Put the insulation back on. Make sure to duct tape the seam that was cut during removal.

14Reattach the lower 2-1/2" (63.5 mm) hose and hose clamp.

15Make sure the heater fuses are not blown before trying the new heater.

For D75 and D100 Dryers

4Remove the hose clamp holding the heater tube to the dryer frame.

5Remove the insulation from the heater tube by cutting the insulation in a straight line from top to bottom.

6Remove the hose and clamps at the top and bottom of the heater tube.

7Remove the plugs or hose fittings toward the top end of the heater. These will need to be installed on the new heater.

8Reference the wiring diagram and / or trace the wires from the process heater tube into the control box. Remove the wires from the relays and terminal strips. Once disconnected pull the wires from the control box into the dry housing toward the heater tube.

9Check the ID on the side of the heater tube for kW rating and voltage. The ID mark on the outside of the tube near the end with the lead wires. Make sure the kW and voltage is the same as the replacement heater.

10Reinstall the plugs or hose fittings toward the top of the heater tube.

11Reattach the lower 2-1/2" (63.5 mm) hose and clamps to the top and bottom.

12Put the insulation back on. Make sure to duct tape the seam that was cut during removal.

13Install the hose clamp holding the heater tube to the dryer frame.
