5Gently spread the sides of the drive bracket and slide the hard drive into the bracket, aligning the drive with the bracket pins, until the drive clicks into place.

6Carefully slide the hard drive into the drive bay until it clicks into place.

7Connect the power and data cables to the drive.

8Ensure that the data cable is securely connected to the connector on the system board.

NOTICE: Always connect the data cable to the SATA0 connector on the system board, or to the SATA1 connector if you already have a hard drive connected to the SATA0 connector and you are installing a second hard drive.

9Check all connectors to be certain that they are properly cabled and firmly seated.

10Replace the computer cover (see "Replacing the Computer Cover" on page 317).

11Insert bootable media and enter system setup (see "System Setup" on page 280), and update the SATA port option under the Drives option list.

12Exit system setup, and reboot the computer.

13Partition and logically format your drive.
