5. Turn the knob on the right side of the printer to remove the
paper. Remove any remaining pieces.
6. If the paper is stuck where the printer ejects it, gently pull
the paper out of the printer.
7. Close the printer cover and turn on the printer. Make sure
the Paper Out and Pause lights are off.
cCaution:
Use the knob on the right side of the printer only to clear paper
jams when the printer is off. Otherwise, you may damage the
printer or change the top-of-form position.
Using Bid irectio nal Ad justment Mode
If you notice that the vertical lines in your printout are not
properly aligned, you can use t he printer’s bidirectional
adjustment mode to correct this problem.
During bidirectional adjustment, the printer prints three
sheets of alignment patterns, Draft, Bit Image, and LQ. As
described below, you select the best alignment pattern from
each sheet.
Follow the steps below to perform bidirection al adjus tme nt .
Note:
To print the instruction sheet and alignment patterns, you need
four sheets of A3 size single-sheet paper or 15-inch
(recommended) continuous paper. (See Chapter 3, “Paper
Handling,” for instructions on loading single-sheet or continuous
paper.)
If you use single-sheet paper, be sure to load a new sheet of paper
each time the printer ejects a printed sheet. Otherwise, you
cannot proceed to the next step.
