Replacing the Ribbon Cartridge If your printing becomes faint, you may need to replace the
ribbon cartridge. (See Chapter 8, “Troubleshooting,” for more
information.) If you do need to replace the ribbon, EPSON
recommends the use of the EPSON Ribbon Cartridge (S015066
for black, S015067 for color) for best results. Genuine EPSON
ribbon cartridges are designed for your EPSON printer; their
high quality ensures the proper operation and long life of the
print head and other printer parts. Other products not
manufactured by EPSON may cause damage to your printer
not covered by EPSON’s warranties.
To replace the ribbon cartridge, follow these steps:
1. Turn on the printer.
2. Press the Pause button; the pr int head moves to the middle
and stops.
3. Turn off the printer. Then open the printer cover and the
paper bail.
wWarning:
If the printer has been used recently, the print head may
be hot. Let it cool before attempting to replace the ribbon
cartridge.
