Interf ace
If necessary, select the interface that your printer uses to
communicate with your computer.
This printer has both a parallel and serial interface built-in. If
you install an optional interface card in the interface slot of the
printer, you can use al l th r ee .
If you select Auto Selection, the printer automatically selects
the interface that is receiving data, and uses that interface until
the end of the print job. (A print job ends when no data is
received from the selected interface for the amount of time
specified in the I/F time-out setting described below.) This
auto interface selection allows you to share the printer among
multiple computers without making changes.
If you connect one computer to the printer, you can select the
parallel, RS-2 32C serial, or opti onal interface acco rding to the
interface your computer requires.
If you don’t know what type of interface your computer
requires, check your computer manual.
I/F timeout
Set the interface time-out if you select Auto Selection in the
Interface setting described above.
