4. Move the paper release lever to the single-sheet position.

Now you can load single sheets from the front or rear paper

guide. For details, see “Using Single Sheets” on page 3-7.

Switching to continuous paper

To switch from single sheets to continuous paper, follow the

steps below.

1. If necessary, press the Load/Eject button to eject the last

printed single sheet.

2. Make sure continuous paper is loaded in the printer as

described under “Loading continuous paper with the

tractor” on page 3-14.

3. Move the paper release lever to the tractor position.

When the printer ejects the paper, the Paper Out flashes and the Pause light comes on. Continuous paper The printer does not load continuous paper. Paper feeding is crooked or the paper jams. 8-12 The top-of-form position of your continuous paper varies when you print several pages. The printer prints on (or too far away from) the perforation of your continuous paper. The printer does not eject your continuous paper properly. 8-14 Page The cut-sheet feeder feeds more than one sheet at a time. Paper feeding is crooked. 8-16 When the printer ejects the paper, the Paper Out flashes and the Pause light comes on. One page of your document is printed on two pages. Operation The Pause light is off but the printer does not print. The Paper Out and Pause lights are on and the printer does not print. The printer sounds like it is printing, but nothing prints. 8-18 The printer makes a strange noise and stops abruptly. The printer stops printing and the Pause light flashes.
