Replacing Consumable Parts

Your printer’s consumable parts and their approximate usage are shown below:

Toner cartridge

 

Up to 5,000 pages depending upon the

 

 

complexity of print jobs

Photoconductor

unit

Up to 30,000 pages when using letter-

 

 

size paper

Note: See Chapter 8, Consumable Parts for more details about conditions governing consumable part life.

The following are consumable part replacement messages:

TONER LOW

Little toner is left; you must replace the toner

 

cartridge soon. When the TONER LOW

 

message appears, you may print

 

approximately twenty additional pages.

TONER OUT

No toner is left; replace the toner cartridge and

 

the ozone filter and clean the transfer charger

 

wire. When the TONER OUT message

 

appears, you cannot print additional pages

 

without replacing the toner cartridge.

CHANGE PCU

The photoconductor unit is worn out. Press

 

the CONTINUE button to finish printing your

 

document, turn off the power, and then

 

replace the photoconductor unit.

 

If the CONTINUE light is also flashing when you

 

see this message, replace the toner unit at the

 

same time you replace the photoconductor

 

unit.
