Replacing Consumable Parts

Note: Because other factors such as the paper you print on affect the life of the photoconductor unit, you may occasionally have to replace the unit before you see the CHANGE PCU message. See Troubleshooting, Chapter 7.

Replacing the toner cartridge

Follow these instructions carefully when you see the TONER OUT

message.

CAUTION:

Do not remove or insert the toner cartridge if the photoconductor unit is not in place. Otherwise, you may damage the printer.

lWhen you must replace the toner cartridge and the photoconductor unit at the same time, make sure you remove the toner cartridge first. Next, replace the photoconductor unit; then replace the toner cartridge. Finally, install the ozone filter.

1.Turn off the printer.
