Initialization

There are five types of printer initialization (returning the printer to a fixed set of conditions).

All of the printer’s parameters return to the default power-on settings:When the power is turned on.When the power is turned off and, after at least 5 seconds, turned on again.

When the CONTINUE button on the printer is pressed until the display shows “INITIALIZE.”

You clear the data received and return the current SelecType Level 1 settings to the saved settings:

When the CONTINUE button is pressed and RESET appears on the printer display,* and your software sends the RESET command to the printer.*

You return the current SelecType Level 1 settings to the saved settings:

When you perform the LOAD MACRO setting in the SelecType Level 1 SYSTEM CONFIG option.

You return the current SelecType (Level 1 and Level 2) settings to the saved settings:

When you perform the FACTORY RESET option in SelecType Level 2.

*Some parameters may not be changed by this method. Refer to the individual printer mode descriptions in Appendix D.
