A reservation may only be released by the initiator that made it. It is not an error to attempt to release reservation that is currently valid or is held by another initiator. In this case, the target shall return GOOD status without altering any other reservation.

TEST UNIT READY CommandThe TEST UNIT READY command (Table 3.10) provides a means to check if the logical unit is ready. This is not a request for a selftest. If the logical unit would accept an appropriate command without returning CHECK CONDITION status, this command shall return a GOOD status. If the logical unit cannot become operational the target shall return CHECK CONDITION status with a sense key of
NOT READY.
