Galaxy 65 User Guide

To upgrade the LAN Subsystem’s firmware:

1Check the version of LAN firmware you have now by pressing CTRL-Euntil the configuration information screen with that information displays.

2Call technical support for information about downloading the firmware updates.

3From the computer connected to the SM module, access the DOS window.

4At the DOS prompt change to the directory where you downloaded the.bfl file.

5Enter:

ftp [SM module’s IP address]

6At the User prompt enter: flash

7At the Password prompt enter: flash

8At the FTP prompt enter: bin

9At the FTP prompt enter: put [.bfl file name] flash

If you are using Windows 95 or 98, you will see a timeout message (Connection closed by remote host), but the ftp process is continuing. You can ignore the timeout message. Wait a few minutes and check the firmware version.

If you are using another operating systems, you will see the downloading progress displayed on the screen.

10When you see the restarting message, wait 60 seconds.

11Check the version of LAN firmware you have now to make sure the firmware update worked by pressing CTRL-Euntil the configuration information screen with that information displays.

12Repeat steps 3 through 11 on the other SM module.
