5.1 Configuring the LAN-related Settings

You can configure several LAN-related settings for the Galaxy 65 Subsystem:

IP settings (refer to the Galaxy 65 Subsystem Getting Started Guide)

Telnet settings (see page 40)

SNMP settings (see page 40)

System information (see page 41)

Passwords (see page 41)

Security options (see page 42)

5.1.1Configuring the Telnet Timeout

You can set the Telnet timeout setting, which controls the number of idle minutes before the Telnet session times out. The default is no timeout, which is shown as 0 minutes.

To set the Telnet timeout:

1In SAM, select Manage Galaxy 65 Subsystem > General Config > LAN Configuration. The LAN Configuration page displays.

2In the Telnet Configuration panel, enter the timeout period.

3Click Change LAN Configuration.

5.1.2 Configuring the SNMP Settings

You can set four Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP)-related settings:

Traps Enabled: On or off toggle to enable SNMP traps. The default is No (disabled).

SNMP Trap Host: Host computer’s IP address that is set up to receive SNMP traps. The default is 0.0.0.0.

Trap Filter: Informational, Warning, or Error. The default is Warning.

Event Filter: Informational, Warning, or Error. The default is Warning.

To set the SNMP settings:

1In SAM, select Manage Galaxy 65 Subsystem > General Config > LAN Configuration. The LAN Configuration page displays.

2In the SNMP Configuration panel, select the options you want.

3Click Change LAN Configuration.
