Turning DVD Video Camera/Recorder On andOff
While holding down tile gray button at the right
of power switch, set tile switch according to
each recording function:
Set to "OFF":
Tile DVD video camera/
recorder will turn oft\
Set to "D":
Torecord still on SD
memory card
Set to "_":
Torecord movie on DVD
RAM or DVDR disc
Set to "1_1":
Torecord still on DVD
RAM disc
Note:
Once you turnthe DVD video camera/recorder on to
let itrecognize the disc, you can immediately record
or play backby turning the DVDvideo camera/
recorder on again However, ifa long timehas
elapsed after the disc was inserted, it will take some
time for the DVD video camera/recorder to start
because itmust recognize the disc again (see
page 158)
• Itwill take some time forthe DVD video camera/
recorder todisplay the Disc Navigation screen after
power is turned on
• If you turnthe DVDvideo camera/recorder on, the
ACCESS indicator wilt light or blink to show that the
DVDvideo camera/recorder is recognizing the discor
card: During this time, no operation, such as
recording, can be performed
After severaI seconds, the ACCESS indicator will go
out, and operating the DVD video camera/recorder
wiItbe possible
Ifthe ACCESS indicator does not go out, refer to
"Check 4" on page 158
PowerONstatus
During playback, set the power switch to "_"
or "1_1"when using disc, or set it to "[1_1"when
using card.

the self-diagnosis function will work and amessage
may appear In this case, refer to "Trouble Messages"
on page 160 and take corrective action
• While the ACCESS/PC orCARD ACCESS indicator is
lit or blinking, donot violently open orclose the LCD
monitor
