Changing the default location for all P6000 EVA arrays

To change the default location for all P6000 EVA arrays, modify the value \Virtual Disks\ in the following section of the configuration.xml file:

\Virtual Disks\

Changing the default location for a specific P6000 EVA array

To change the default location for a specific P6000 EVA array, add the following text to the configuration.xml file:

\Virtual Disks\FolderName

Use ArrayName to specify an array, and FolderName to specify the virtual disk location

NOTE: FolderName must exist on the P6000 EVA or provisioning operations will fail.

Adding a new datastore

You can add a new datastore to a host or cluster that meets the following prerequisites:

Hosts

The host must exist in the vSphere Client.

In an FC environment, the SAN must be zoned between the storage pools and the host.

The host must be configured as a hostgroup or host on the array.

P4000 arrays in an iSCSI environment only:

The iSCSI initiator on the host must be installed and configured.

The iSCSI array IP address or hostname must be configured in the iSCSI initiator's dynamic discovery list on the host.

Clusters

The cluster and its hosts must exist in the vSphere Client.

In an FC environment, the SAN must be zoned between the storage pools and the cluster hosts.

The cluster hosts must be configured as hostgroups or hosts on the array.

The cluster hosts can belong to separate hostgroups.

NOTE: The Storage Module for vCenter does not support configurations that have all of the cluster hosts in a single hostgroup.

P4000 arrays in an iSCSI environment only:

The iSCSI initiator on all cluster hosts must be installed and configured.

The iSCSI array IP address or hostname must be configured in the iSCSI initiator's dynamic discovery list on all cluster hosts.

Adding a datastore

To add a datastore to a host or cluster:

1.Start the vSphere Client.
