The Classes view in the project pane organizes your work in IBM® SPSS® Modeler c ategorically
by the types of objects created. Saved objects can be added to any of the following catego ries:

Other (non-SPSS Modeler les, such as slide shows or white papers relevant to your data

Adding objects to the Classes view also adds them to the default phase folder in t he CRISP-DM
view.
Note: If the project pane is not visible in the window, click Project on the View menu.
Building a Project
A project is essentially a le containing references to all of the les that you associate with the
project. This means that project items are saved both individuall yan d as a reference in the project
le (.cpj). Because of this referential structur e, note the following:
Project items must rst be saved individually before being added to a project. If an item is
unsaved, you will be prompted to save it before adding it to the current project.
Objects that are updated individually, such as streams, are also updated in the project le.
Manually moving or deleting objects (such as streams, nodes, and output objects) from th ele
system will render links in the project le invalid.

Creating a New Project

New projects are easy to create in the IBM® SPSS® Modeler window. Youcan either start
building one, if none is open, or you can close an existing project and start from scratch.
