Using the Seam Guides on the Needle Plate
The seam guides onthe needle plate are engraved to help
you measure seam width. The lines are marked as follows..

Turning Square Corners
Turning asquare corner 5/8" (1.6 cm) from the fabric edge:
[] Stop stitching and lower the needle bypressing the Up/
down needle position button when the fabric edge
facing you lines up with the cornering guide as shown.
[] Raise the presser foot and turn the fabric to line up
the edge with the 5/8" (1o6cm) seam guide,
[] Lower the presser foot and begin stitching in the new
direction.

Using the Quilting Guide
The stitch and its uses:
Quilting isstitching two layers of fabric together inbetween
to add dimension and warmth.

such as yokes, pockets, cuffs and collars..
It isalso popular for table fashions.
In addition to straight stitch quilting, you can quilt with
decorative stitches or stitch pattern combinations.
To do quilting successfully, follow these simple steps:
[] Loosen the quilter screw on the back of the presser foot
as showR°
[] Slide the quilting guide into the opening under the
screw to the width of quilting stitches you desire
between measurement lines.
[] Tighten the screw.

Sewing on Heavy Fabrics
The black button on foot A willlock the foot in a horizontal
position ifyou push it in before lowering the presser foot.
This ensures even feeding at the beginning ofseams and
helps when sewing many layers of fabric such as sewing
over welt seams when hemming jeans°
When you reach the point ofan increased thickness, lower
the needle and raise the presser fool Press the toe ofthe
foot and push inthe black button, then lower the foot and
continue sewing.
This button releases automatically after a few stitches.
Note: When sewing an edge, select stitch pattern 11.
