Controlling DTMF Functionality with the command +FCLASS=

The +FCLASS= command controls DTMF functionality and is used as follows.

1.Enter the command AT+FCLASS=8 <cr> to the modem.

2.Call into modem with phone. A >r (“arrow r”), incoming ring indication) is displayed, followed by OK . The modem is now in Online Voice Command mode, allowing DTMF characters to be passed through from the remote phone. The characters is displayed as shown below:

Controlling DTMF Functionality with the command +FCLASS= / AT+FCLASS=8 I  /  I  ~ ~

The Data link escape character (>), and the ‘start of DTMF tone shielding’ character (/) are both output once a button is pressed. The DTMF digit will continue to be output along with a > until the button is released, then another > is output along with a ‘DTMF transitions to off’ (~) character. Silence on the line is indicated with a (>s) displayed.
